Ashwin Gowda, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Ashwin Gowda, board certified in Sleep Medicine and Psychiatry, has been providing care to those with sleep disorders in Austin since 2002. His education and experience include one year at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Roanoke, Virginia, a one year medical internship at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, a three year residency in psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota followed by a one year fellowship in sleep medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital in Long Island, New York.
Above all else, Dr. Gowda finds fulfillment in contributing to the well being of every person he cares for. Managing and treating sleep disorders vastly improves the quality of life of the individual and his background in psychiatry is often useful in providing care since he understands the relationship between sleep disorders and psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Gowda enjoys numerous outdoor activities such as tennis, biking, and running. He, along with his family, can often be found at Town Lake or enjoying one of Austin’s many outdoor venues. He and the family also love to travel. Some of their recent vacations include: Santa Fe, New Mexico; San Francisco, California; and Mexico City, Mexico.
Monique Mulvany, FNP-C
Nurse Practitioner
Monique Mulvany is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has been practicing in the specialty of sleep medicine since 2006. Monique is originally from Brownwood, Texas. She received her Bachelors of Science in nursing degree from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. She worked as an RN at Brackenridge Hospital in the Spinal, Neuro and Orthopedics Trauma Unit for four years and then helped run a rural health clinic in Guimaca, Honduras before entering University of Texas at Austin Masters Degree Program. Monique graduated from this program with honors. Monique is married and has two sons and enjoys exercising, listening to live music and attending local arts events.
